Last night, my dream began with a man in a car driving toward a series of underground tunnels. A labyrinth filled with statues that may only move in darkness; sunlight kind of freezes them. There are these holes where sunlight shines through from above. They appeared as angels, but they sound much more like gargoyles to me. I believe the labyrinth was called a 'soul dark chamber.' It's for torture. You're trapped there, eternally running from them. Only the statues can kill you, you cannot die otherwise. For instance, there is no food there, but you cannot die of starvation. You can only feel the pain of starvation. Jump to the future where it's been made into a sport. I believe the statues were also hurt by water. I know there was some way to kill them. The audience watches multiple areas on huge TV screens in a stadium near the tunnel system. The entrance to the tunnels is through a forest, one which wasn't there before. Before, there was only a huge abandoned building. The building is now a sort of hotel for the competitors. The competition is a last man standing sort of deal. The competitors can try to kill each other, but it doesn't work. Only the statues can kill you. However, you can still feel the pain of death. If you are 'killed,' there is a room in the hotel where you can 'resurrect.' Being the last one to not be killed by statues is not the only way to win, however. You can also find the escape, or, you can kill all the statues, effectively ending it forever. If you kill all the statues, the sort of immortality you gain in these underground tunnels vanishes and you are able to die there. My dream focused on one competitor. They had long, shaggy, blonde hair. The pain was too much. They began to see the others as statues. One day, they snapped and gunned down the other competitors. After the competitors resurrected, some were angry, others were sympathetic. The angry few decided to retaliate. They took the blonde person and began to shoot them, and basically beat them to death. They stuck this thing in the blonde person's ear and blew their head up. Upon blonde's full recovery, when their hearing finally returned, they went to the designated sleep room in the hotel. Competitors sleep during the day because the statues do not move then. Blonde entered the room and just started screaming and screaming. The sympathetic few, who knew the toll this game could take on your sanity, managed to quiet them. Blonde was invited to sleep in their bed, but could not sleep. Did not want to sleep. Blonde turned to any drug that would keep them awake. Blonde did not want those things to kill them. Blonde wanted to die, just not at the hand of the statues. Blonde would have flashbacks to their head exploding. They would shake constantly. You could eat in the hotel to prevent feeling the pain of starvation, but Blonde could not eat, and did not want to. Blonde knew that if they could kill the statues, then they could finally die. So that's where the dream ends - with Blonde staring off into space and wishing they would die. I'm hoping there's a part two to this dream, because it was incredibly vivid and gripping IMD
