The sky is scarlet, and the ground is covered with ash and carved with a red liquid. I see a black city in the distance, and I can smell the scent of smoke and the sickening smell of fresh blood. I feel slightly dizzy and tired. Suddenly I'm inside the black city, in a courtyard. The walls, everything, is made of a shiny black stone. Twelve arches, each with a set of strange symbols, loom above me. In the exact center, a black fountain sprays crystal clear water. I approach the fountain, only slightly aware of the black ash beneath my feet. I dip my fingers into the crystal clear water, letting it calm me. The cool water suddenly feels warm and sticky. I draw my hand from the fountain and look at the red liquid on it: blood. I look at the fountain in surprise and horror as the water runs red with fresh blood. I look away in disgust. Suddenly, I'm somewhere else. It seems wide enough to be a market street. I look at the walls of the buildings, and see runes and pictures on the black walls. I hear claws on stone nearby. I whip around, but I see nothing behind me. I look down the street suspiciously. Then I turn around to find myself looking into the blood-red eyes of a fearsome beast. It was five times my size, and covered with pitch black feathers. Its back feet were like a bird's, but covered with fur. Its hands were like a gorilla's. It had no nose on its face. Its mouth hung slightly open, its long, sharp fangs dripped with fresh human blood. I caught my breath, turned, and ran. It was futile, though. I knew it was. I couldn't hear it, but I knew it was right behind me, giving chase. I turned to my right: dead end. I turn around to go back, but the creature was already in my path. I take a step back and the ground sinks below my foot, tripping me on my back. I tense in fear as the creature advances on me. I try to move, but I'm paralyzed. The creature breaks into a run. It jumps at me, talons ready to rip me to shreds. "Watch out!" I hear. It's a boy's voice. I am quickly pushed out of the creature's path, and everything goes dark. That is when I awake.
