I dreamed up my own Star Wars movie! It was awesome! One of the coolest dreams I've ever had. Star Wars: Episode 3.5 It started out on the planet Corusant and at first I couldn't tell if the setting was after Episode 3 or 6, but Palpatine wasn't dead yet so I figured it must be after the events of "Revenge of the Sith." Everything seemed so crisp and clear! The sunshine was bright, all these different types of starships were coming and going! It was like I was really there. Anyway, IMD I was one of several jedi who were on an elite task force who's job was to infiltrate the highest levels of Palpatine's government, find out what he was up to, put a stop to it, and capture him. Some of us were assigned to Palpatine's elite military forces, some of us to his top secret scientific R&D team, and some of us to his elite spy network. (I was assigined both military and scientific R&D). But obviously Palpatine wouldn't hire us right off the street for his most secret and valuable jobs - we had to work our way up. Since we were the best of the best it didn't take long for us to climb the ladder of our respective departments. As time went by we were able to earn the trust of the right people and gather more information about Palpatine's next plans. But as we got closer to the truth we started to suspect that Palpatine suspected us. For example, we would be on our way to meet a key contact and when we got there we would find the person had disappeared, or had been killed in a freak accident. In either case, we couldn't be sure that he suspected who we really were, but we were nervous because it wasn't the right time for us to blow our cover yet. Once I had weaseled my way to the top of the imperial R&D department they trusted me enough to give me a tour of their #1 top secret project and we finally learned the horrible truth. Palpatine was hollowing out Corusant and building a planet-sized machine with the purpose of forcing the solar system's star to collapse and then absorbing the resulting energy! Their plan was to slowly and managably shrink the star so that it would shine brighter, burn hotter, and spin faster, and bring the planet in to a closer orbit so it could absorb the extra energy the star would put out. Here were the problems: no one on the surface of the planet had any idea what was about to happen so they would all be baked alive! Palpatine would be in possession of an astronomically powerful weapon, the star and solar system would be destroyed, and we weren't even sure if his plan would work! His device might create a black hole or a supernova. Our time to act had come. We set out to capture Palpatine before he could put his plan into action. We followed him to a launch site but we were too late. We showed up just as he was taking off. So we jumped into our own ship and took off after him. We caught up to his ship and forced our way in. But once inside we found it completely empty! It was a diversion. Instead of boarding the ship Palpatine and his team had boarded a subterranian elevator that would take him down to the planet's core, the control center of his doomsday device. This finally confirmed our suspicions that he knew we were spies. We had been neutralized. He was free to activate his machine while we were stuck out in space, powerless to stop him (although at a safe distance to watch the results). I guess some part of me wanted him to succeed so that I could see what a collapsing star looked like. :) This was where the incredibly clear & vivid nature of my dream paid off; the "special effects." We watched as the machine was activated, the planet closed in on the star, and slowly and violently the star began to collapse and die before its time. Palpatine kept absorbing the enery until it was nothing but a smoldering black dwarf. Then he kicked on the hyperdrive and the whole planet went zipping on out into space to who-knows-where. We had failed in our mission, but it was one heck of a wild ride IMD.
