I had a dream that a zombie outbreak had occurred, not normal zombies but still living persons who became infected and behave in abnormal ways. Usually as groups. They no longer did things normally but more as a mockery of what something pretending to be human. Sometimes they would mock the morning or evening rush of getting to and from work by getting in cars and driving. but they didn't really go anywhere but stayed clustered in their herd. more trying to camouflage it than anything else. Sometimes they did better than others. They could speak to you but it didn't really make sense what they said, what came from their mouths seemed like it should have meaning if you could focus more but they were trying to draw you to their pack. In this instance most people had become infected and my mother and I were the only ones we knew of that were not infected. The outbreak had gone on a long time and food on the shelves in stores had begun to expire but we were out again so we drove up the road to the shops but there was a herd there on the highway, so many and so dense all but some persons were infected. A woman pushing her baby in a stroller had gotten caught up in it and a few members of the herd were hunting her while the rest carried on the farce that they were normal. The woman tried to push the baby carriage away nonchalantly and act as though she was one of them to lose their interest but it was too late. my mother said "I think to say it but that woman should abandon her baby". She may have had a chance if not for the stroller but she did not give it up. We both knew we weren't going to make it at that point but did not give up the presence of making a food run. My mother and I pulled into an alleyway by the parking lot and proceeded to bash our way in towards the store. We had done it before but the herds had never been this strong. We bashed in a few heads and got past a few stores got some expired tortillas and were no more. I had joined their hive mind and started to pretend to be myself rather than being myself. I had their goal though I did not know what it was. But it was not obvious to my mother still scavenging with me.
